The Project Engineer will playa vital role in supporting the successful execution of constructionprojects across multiple sectors, including utilities,infrastructure, and general contracting. Description Key Responsibilities:
Project Support andCoordination:
Assist the Project Manager and Senior ProjectEngineer in the planning, coordination, and execution of projects.
Coordinate the work of subcontractors, suppliers, and internalteams to ensure seamless project execution. Maintain projectdocumentation, including construction schedules, submittals, RFIs(Requests for Information), and change orders.
TechnicalAssistance:
Provide technical support during the design, planning,and execution phases of projects. Assist with reviewing andinterpreting construction plans, specifications, and contracts toensure project compliance. Ensure proper installation andinspection of construction materials and equipment.
ProjectScheduling and Cost Management:
Support the creation andmaintenance of project schedules, tracking progress, and helping toidentify potential delays or risks. Help prepare and manage projectbudgets, tracking expenditures and working with project managers toensure that projects remain within budget. Monitor project costs,processing invoices, and reviewing payments to subcontractors andsuppliers.
Quality Control and Safety:
Ensure constructionactivities comply with safety regulations and best practices.
Support site inspections, quality control checks, and compliancewith company and industry standards. Assist in ensuring allnecessary permits and inspections are completed in accordance withlocal regulations.
Submittals and Documentation:
Prepare, organize,and track submittals, RFIs, and change orders, ensuring timelyresponses and resolutions. Maintain accurate and up-to-date projectfiles, including construction drawings, documentation, andcorrespondence. Prepare project status reports and assist inpresenting updates to internal stakeholders and clients.
Client andStakeholder Communication:
Serve as a liaison between the projectteam, clients, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring clear andtimely communication. Assist in preparing and reviewing projectreports, proposals, and client presentations. Addressproject-related inquiries from stakeholders, escalating issues asnecessary.
Profile Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree inCivil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in constructionengineering or a related field, ideally in general contracting,utilities, or infrastructure projects. Familiarity with projectmanagement software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, MicrosoftProject) and general construction practices.
Skills andCompetencies:
Strong technical understanding of constructionprocesses, including scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with theability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong verbal andwritten communication skills, with the ability to work effectivelywith a range of stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite(Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and construction-related software.
