Senior Structural Engineer TAPP Workforce Solutions Inc. Miami, FL Senior Structural Engineer We have a great opportunity available with a fast growing company who operates in industries including Architecture, Structural, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering, among others. They’re in need of an Engineer who will play a pivotal role in establishing and growing the structural engineering design department within the firm. This individual will be deeply involved in hands-on design work. A primary focus will be on building lasting relationships, and ensuring the successful delivery of structural designs for buildings, with a focus on concrete and steel structures. Experience with modular and wood structures is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

Hands-On Design Work Lead and participate in the design of structural systems for buildings, focusing on concrete and steel structures. Oversee and execute hands-on design work for complex structural engineering projects, ensuring compliance with client specifications and industry standards. Manage the technical delivery of structural designs from concept through to completion, ensuring quality and accuracy. Experience with modular and wood structures is a plus. Client Acquisition Develop strong relationships with government agencies, property developers, commercial clients, and more. Act as a point of contact for clients, ensuring satisfaction and delivering solutions aligned with their needs. Project Management and Delivery Oversee structural engineering projects from start to finish, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. Ensure designs meet the required standards and regulatory guidelines while meeting client expectations and timelines. Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders to ensure timely and successful project delivery. Department Development and Leadership Establish and lead the structural engineering design department, including defining processes, standards, and building a high-performing team. Recruit, mentor, and manage structural engineers and technical staff to ensure continued development and excellence. Develop and implement best practices, design standards, and workflows for the department. Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical) to deliver integrated design solutions.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred). Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Florida is required. Registration as a Professional Engineer in the US is a plus. Minimum of 7 years of experience in structural engineering design. Extensive experience in concrete and steel buildings is required. Experience with modular and wood structures is preferred. Proven ability to acquire new clients and secure contracts. Extensive experience in hands-on structural design, not just in a managerial capacity. Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit, and other structural design software commonly used in the industry. In-depth knowledge of local building codes, industry standards, and regulatory requirements in Florida. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. A strong background in business development and client management.
