We are currently searching for a talented Bridge Engineer to join our Mid-Atlantic Region in Camp Hill, PA and Pittsburgh, PA, or the surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will assist their department by performing basic engineering-related tasks including research, development, design, and delivery on assigned project(s). What you’ll be doing: Perform calculations and analysis for designing bridge and transportation structures using various bridge design software programs
Review calculations and design details developed by others
Work sharing on project assignments throughout our corporate footprint
Perform load ratings on bridges of various type size and complexity
Attend meeting with clients and other professionals and organizations
Develop solutions to challenges presented by the client within budget, schedule, and project constraints
Review shop drawings and other construction related submittals
Organize and maintain project files
Quantity take-off and engineer’s estimate What you need to have: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Valid Professional Engineering Licensure (P.E.) in West Virginia or Pennsylvania is preferred or ability to obtain
7 – 12 years of engineering experience in bridge design
Bridge design experience
Skilled in the use of Microstation or AutoCAD
Technical expertise for the layout & design of bridges and related highway structures
Familiarity with rehabilitation of existing bridges and highway structures
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines.
Valid driver’s license.
A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR).
