Fellow Structural Analyst Engineer
Aiken, SC
Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Fellow Structural Analyst Engineer opportunity to support the Savannah River Site.

Fellow Structural Analyst Engineer-

Duties:

Apply technical experience in field of specialization or broad-based experience in multiple technical fields, and use other technical resources within the company, to resolve complex problems.
Incorporate advanced technical practices and a variety of complex features such as complicated technical requirements, application of new or special materials or processes and difficult coordination or oversight requirements into problem solving and program planning.
Provide leadership in determining solutions to complex problems and be recognized as having expertise in a functional area(s) of technical expertise.
Develop solutions to complex technical problems in fields of expertise.
Keep informed on technical needs within the company and technical trends in area of expertise in the external world.
Be aware of capabilities of the work group and needs of its customers.
Identify technical programs which can be carried out with little guidance and take the initiative to accomplish them.
Lead task teams to develop solutions to more complex problems.
Prepare plans including schedules, budgets and personnel requirements for solving major technical tasks identified by management.
Develop schedules, monitor progress, monitor expenditures of budget and review quality of work performed.
Include research, development, testing, quality assurance requirements.
Communicate the results and objectives verbally and in manuscript form to customers, colleagues, managers and oversight groups.
Prepare reports for external publication.

Education & Years of Experience:

Advanced Civil Engineering degree and relevant experience, a Ph.D. degree and about 10 years’ experience OR a MS degree and 12 years’ experience OR a BS degree and approximately 15 years’ experience.

Skills:

Considered an internal expert in area of expertise.
Contributes to advancing knowledge in field of expertise through various avenues such as internal and external publications and professional society presentations.
Can solve complex problems in field.
Must demonstrate 8 years recent experience in design and analysis of NRC or DOE regulated nuclear facilities.
Experience with finite element analysis is required.
Must demonstrate working knowledge of STAAD, ANSYS or ABAQUS or similar computer codes.
Must demonstrate working knowledge of National Codes and Standards; specifically, IBC, AISC (ASD, LRFD, & N690), ACI (318 & 349) and ASCE (4, 7 & 43).
Must be able to perform field walk-downs to document as-installed conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:

Possessed an active clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years.
Experience utilizing EVMS on DOE or NNSA projects.
Experience working with

DOE/NNSA

customers.
Project experience utilizing

DOE 413.3

guidelines.
Previous SRS site experience.

Other Job Requirements:

Must be a U.S. Citizen
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance (an active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties).
