Job Description

Construction Project Engineer 3.8 3.8 out of 5 stars Pittsford, VT Casella Construction is seeking to hire a Construction Project Engineer to join our Project Management Team in Pittsford, Vermont. The Construction Project Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. We seek a motivated, energetic, and self-starting Construction Project Engineer who is committed to professionalism, integrity, and safety. In this role, you will learn all aspects of construction projects working within the project management team. This position provides engineering and professional support for large earthwork, site development, environmental, and demolition projects. The person in this role is a self-motivated, professional Construction Project Engineer who wants to contribute to a team that embraces innovation and is an industry leader.

Responsibilities:

Support project managers and owners when estimating new projects. Work includes performing detailed take-offs, volume calculations, ability to read and interpret plans and specifications, communicate with vendors and subcontractors, attend pre-bid meetings, and partially assemble cost in estimating software. Prepare and present project reports, proposals, and status updates to senior management and clients. Prepare and manage project submittals and materials buy-outs. Prepare and manage Requests for Information (RFI’s). Prepare and upload layout information for field staff. Create and track project change orders. Edit drawings and create 3D models for equipment automation. Calculate quantities for payment. Collaborate and generate as-built information and record drawings from field data. Prepare project closeout documents including project as-builts, operations manuals, warranty information, etc. Attendance of project meetings as needed. Periodic travel to job sites Training requirements, both in person and online, as needed or required.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in construction project management. Proficiency in project management software and tools. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of construction estimating; and budget and cost management. Self-starter, professional and motivated. AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is required. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and CPM scheduling software and the ability to adapt to other software. Computer skills are required. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Desired Qualifications:

Experience with Blue Beam software. Experience with B2W software.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and moving around construction sites. Ability to climb ladders and stairs and navigate uneven terrain. Manual dexterity to operate tools, equipment, and technology. Ability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain. Visual acuity to read blueprints, plans, and specifications. Hearing ability to perceive and interpret a variety of sounds and alarms on construction sites. Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
