Permanent/Full Time Job Description:

The work involves responsibility for performing a wide range of technical work including the application of standard engineering principles and practices to a variety of public works engineering projects and assignments. The work is performed under the general supervision of a higher level engineer with leeway allowed for the use of independent judgment according to established procedures and policies. Does related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Either:

(a)Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with a Bachelors degree or higher in civil engineering, surveying or closely related field; or (b)Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with an Associates degree in civil engineering, surveying or closely related field and two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in civil engineering technology, surveying or construction management; or (c)Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in civil engineering technology, surveying or construction management.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT

1)Possession of a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State at the time of appointment and continuously thereafter. 2)Possession of NICET Level II or III Certification or eligibility to obtain within one (1) year of appointment.
