Role:

We’re seeking a hands-on, technically skilled Technical Operations Technician to support the operation, programming, and troubleshooting of automated industrial systems. You’ll work directly with PLCs, VFDs, electric motors, cooling towers, and water treatment systems, combining field work with computer-based system control and diagnostics. This position is ideal for someone who understands how mechanical systems interact with electrical and digital controls — and who is ready to take ownership of keeping those systems running smoothly. No travel is required.

Key Responsibilities:

Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot PLC systems, VFDs, and other automation equipment

Required Skills & Experience:

2+ years of experience in an industrial, automation, or technical operations role Direct experience with water treatment systems in an industrial or commercial environment Familiarity with cooling towers, their components, and related control systems Proficiency in PLC programming and interface tools (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent) Comfortable working with VFDs, contactors, motor circuits, and electrical panels Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail Ability to perform remote system monitoring and support network-connected controls Understanding of safety practices, LOTO procedures, and electrical code basics Use computer interfaces (e.g., RSLogix, Studio 5000, Siemens TIA Portal) to program, modify, and optimize system controls Perform remote monitoring, control diagnostics, and data analysis to maintain system stability Conduct diagnostics and repairs on electric motors, motor starters, and control circuits Maintain and monitor water treatment systems (required), ensuring chemical balance, flow, and filtration are within operational specs Operate and service cooling towers, including pump systems, fans, and heat exchange components Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to implement system improvements Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and ladder logic Document maintenance activities, system changes, and troubleshooting procedures accurately
