Job Description
Education:
High School Diploma or GEDMonths/Years of Experience:
Nine (9) years of applicable experience supporting engineering,design, or testing of hardware in the appropriate area of specialization; or four (4) years ofapplicable college/vocational/military/technical school and five (5) years of applicable experience in the assigned specialty area; and the following additional requirements: Instrumentation – Experience must include successful completion of sixteen (16) weeks of civilian or military training in electronics or basic instrumentation techniques and a minimum of six (6) years of experience in electronics/instrumentation supporting engineering or testing of military hardware.
Required Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. Citizen and have or be able to obtain a DoD security clearance. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
Duties:
Position will require both laboratory bench and outdoor field work as well as manuallifting of up to 50 lbs. Ability to understand basic engineering terminology and communicateeffectively with others. Ability to use bench level electronics laboratory equipment. Responsiblefor supporting a variety of tasks using established methods and procedures. Tasking will alsoinclude duties, assisting with equipment inventories, supporting equipment calibrationrequirements and other general support duties as required. Must be able to follow specificinstructions and perform well toward accomplishing tasks while adhering to required safety andsecurity requirements. Must be able to work as a team member in a collaborative effort, takinginitiative at times when direction is implicit. The candidate must be willing to support overtime onan occasional basis. Position will be expected to periodically participate in cross-functionaltraining activities within various test laboratories performing engineering technician tasks insupport of other test programs as dictated by overall workload requirements.
