- General Description
- :
IT/ET assists the HQ IT Manager with satellite office system administrative duties, as well as handling electronic systems and equipment
- Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform and document system configuration changes
- Loads and configures software, firmware, security patches, and assess vulnerabilities
- Assist users in accessing and using systems
- Maintain inventory accountability on hardware and software
- Cable plant management
- Collaborate with managers, co-workers, and customers on system development and implementation. Identifying and correcting problems with implementing new capabilities
- Install new equipment, performing routine inspections, and ensuring optimal system performance
- Diagnose malfunctions, replacing defective components, and making repairs to electronic equipment and systems
- Perform tests to evaluate system performance, calibrating equipment, and verifying measurements
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment status.
- Work Experience Requirements
- Tier 2 Help Desk Technical Support
- Experience in systems administration
- Experience with physical and virtual networking products (routing, switching, and/or firewalls).
- Educational Requirements (or equivalent):
- Must have relevant IT and ET experience (e.g., Military, Electronics Technician)

- Helpdesk, Support Technician, Electronics Technician, Field Service Technician, etc
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment
- Strong understanding of electronic principles, components, and systems
- Ability to analyze data, interpret schematics, and understand technical documentation.
- Beneficial Skills/Experience
- Working knowledge of Access Control systems
- Working knowledge of mobile and field radio systems
- May be required to obtain a DOD security clearance
- Detailed knowledge of command line and human machine interfaces using security products such as Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), VPNs, virtual LANs (VLAN), firewalls, network-based and host-based intrusion detection and prevention systems, and data encryption
- Familiarity with Risk Management Frameworks such as
NIST 800-53
