Electrical / Automation Technician REN Seafoods 1201 W I65 Service Rd N, Mobile, AL 36618 REN Seafoods is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Electrical/Automation Technician. The primary responsibility of this role is to perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on electrical and mechanical equipment in accordance with company and industry standards. The ideal candidate is passionate about solving problems, possesses a strong attention to detail and technical aptitude.

Responsibilities :

Disassemble and assemble production equipment for replacement of worn or broken parts. Perform preventative maintenance on equipment by cleaning, lubricating and/or replacing broken or worn parts. Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment. Install and maintain automated systems and machinery Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in machinery electrical and automation systems Perform routine maintenance checks on automated systems Conduct tests on machinery to gauge performance and functionality Program and set-up production equipment to meet the required parameters Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals Programming and troubleshooting PLCs Contribute to the continuous improvement of automation processes Replace and/or repair electrical devices and equipment up to 480 volts, to include motors, proximity switches, conveyors etc. Perform equipment setups and changeovers for packaging equipment.. Complete assigned tasks in a timely, accurate and efficient manner while adhering to safety, food safety, quality, and legal regulations. Perform all work in accordance with environmental, health and safety standards, rules, regulations, and practices of the facility.

Required Qualifications :

Good mechanical and electrical aptitude. Ability to read, write and do basic arithmetic functions. Basic understanding of equipment manuals and electrical schematics. Demonstrated success in troubleshooting and problem solving. Familiarity with and ability to diagnose problems associated with hydraulic/pneumatic, computers & information technology, switches, PLC’s, and building electric. Proven experience as an Automation Technician or similar role Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs, Factory talk, Studio 5000 Logics 500) Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics Must be willing and able to work varying hours. Previous food packaging experience is preferred but not required. Prefer 1 to 2 years’ experience in a similar work environment. High school diploma or equivalent; Certificate in electrical, or relevant field will be a plus.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands :

While performing the duties of this position, the employee must be able to: Lift 25 lbs. frequently with a maximum of 75 lbs. occasionally. Work in a cold and wet food processing and manufacturing facility with temperatures around 40 degrees (may vary depending on work area). Climb and work from ladders up to 15 ft. Stand/walk for up to 12 hours a day. Work in close proximity to oils, solvents, and chemicals used in production equipment. When required, perform repairs on rooftops or outdoors in inclement weather.
