Fiber Technician ITG Communications – 2.6 Montgomery, AL Job Details Full-time $14 an hour 7 hours ago Qualifications Customer service High school diploma or GED Communication skills Entry level Under 1 year Full Job Description Responsibilities Resolve, repair and install fiber optics systems, ensuring that they work properly Examine and replace faulty and/or old fiber optic cables. Rectify fiber optic problem areas. Inspect worksite, so that a faulty fiber optic system does not destabilize its performance. Keep track of the signal strength of different devices including: television, telephone, and high-speed internet. Formulate and maintain system records and system designs. Educate customers on services and assist with setting up customer owned devices. Requirements Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent, preferably with experience in fiber installation preferred but not required. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, sit Ability to use hands to handle or feet Ability to reach with hands and arms Ability to climb and balance. Use or ladder required. Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl Ability to work in tight spaces (attic/crawl space, etc.) Ability to lift up to 75lbs Key Competencies, Skills, Abilities Ability to follow directions. Ability to work as a team. Oral communication skills. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to maintain all safety expectations Works outdoors for extended periods.
