Duties and Responsibilities:
Proficient in PLC — AB, ABB and Siemens. Experience in troubleshooting system issues using PLC required. Robotics Experience preferred (FANUC) Power distribution systems and other basic electrical / electronic equipment. Troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic systems – multi-craft skills required. Inspects, assembles and installs all types of new or repaired electrical circuits, systems, instrumentation and equipment, including but not limited to motors, regulators, controllers, generators, switchgear. Inspects electrical equipment and machinery, diagnoses faulty operation, determines proper corrective action, documents in current or future maintenance scheduling program, and makes indicated repairs. Stays up to date with technology development and industry trends regarding electrical control, motor AC/DC drives, PLCs, HMIs, and industrial lighting equipment. Configure, commission, troubleshoot and startup any AC/DC drive, HMI, PLC, DCS, or any other control device/system with minimal assistance from engineering. Document all electrical changes with marked up drawings. Plan, prioritize, and complete work in most efficient and proactive approach while working in accordance with all city, state, and federal electrical codes. Reads and interprets electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals. Work in a team-based environment. Employees must follow all Johns Manville safety procedures and policies.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma required. Two years of formal technical training in electrical and instrumentation crafts Five to ten years of Industrial Electrician/E&I experience AutoCAD experience a plus. Must successfully complete CBT training and BBSO. Must be able to stand, walk, and use tools continuously as well as frequently reach, climb stairs and lift up to 50lbs. Must be able to tolerate elevated heights and extreme temperatures. Work requires performing tasks in all weather conditions. Work requires good hearing, vision, speaking, color vision, and finger dexterity skills as well as the ability to perform close work. Computer skills and the ability to analyze blueprints, charts, and diagrams are essential. Electricians must supply basic hand tools including acceptable electrical meters. Respirator and hearing protection required in some areas. Work Environment This job is in an industrial, manufacturing environment. The job requires working frequently around and with heavy machinery with moving mechanical parts, industrial ovens, and mobile equipment. The environment is not climate controlled and employees must be able to work in environments that may be extremely hot and humid or cold depending upon the operation and the season. Walking surfaces can be wet, dusty, and uneven. Areas of the building where work must be done have high noise levels, vibration, and/or fumes. Some working areas contain the presence of airborne particles which can irritate the skin or eyes. The manufacturing process involves toxic or caustic chemicals. Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment which includes steel toed shoes, ear protection, eye protection , respirators, gloves and head protection.
