Electronics Technician:
Assembles electronic components, subassemblies, products, or systems, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment. Reads work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies Mounts assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets. Experience of Electronics Technician:
2 or 4-year degree in the field of Electronics and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Technical Certificate in Electronics Technology preferred
Qualifications of Electronics Technician:
Ability to distinguish electronic components and read resistor color codes. Experience in printed circuit board assembly. Basic understanding of electrical/electronic theory and trouble shooting skills. Ability to use electronic test equipment, multi-meters and oscilloscopes. Ability to perform calibration of electronic equipment. Knowledge and understanding of National Electric Code.
Responsibilities of Electronics Technician:
Connects component lead wire to printed circuit or routes and connects wires between individual component lead and other components, connectors, terminal and contact points. Performs soldering and welding or related bonding procedures and equipment. Installs finished assemblies or subassemblies. Assembles and attaches hardware, such as caps, clamps, knobs and switches to assemblies. Constructs control panels or console housings. Performs electrical testing, calibration and verification of assemblies. Trouble shoots, repairs damages and warranties.
