Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Installs, lays out, and repairs instrument and control equipment as necessary
- Performs daily equipment checks on all machines and tools used in his/her maintenance activities. Corrects or reports any deficiencies found
- Maintains E&I equipment files ensuring that they are kept up to date with new or modified installations
- Coordinates his/her daily maintenance activities. Prioritizes work and pulls together all necessary resources to complete assigned tasks
- Assists other crafts with job tasks outside of his/her core assignment when necessary
- Communicates effectively and works with technical and operational personnel to troubleshoot equipment problems and bring tasks to successful completion safely and efficiently
- Performs periodic maintenance on equipment per established PM Procedures
- Works under the guidance of a master technician striving to complete all requirements to be advanced to Tech 2 status
- Maintains work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition
- Reports problems related to work immediately to supervisor
- Follows all of HRC’s Code of Conduct Policies
- Will be expected to take and pass the Tech 2 Test within two years of beginning assignment Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) year technical degree desirable
- Five (5) years’ experience in E&I equipment and shop activities
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring tools
- Knowledge of and working experience in personal computer use and applications Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
- Must have a valid driver license. Language Skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with technicians, supervisors, managers, etc. as needed Mathematical Skills
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry as they pertain to maintenance activities Reasoning Ability
- Ability to analyze situations and determine the most efficient and practical solution to the problem specified
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
