Full Job Description Description:
We are looking for a few Fiber Splicing Installation Professionals to perform fiber optic cable splicing and testing to ensure reliable, high-performance connectivity in main-line construction projects. This position will also install, prep and terminate fiber optic enclosures, panels and splice cases. This position reports daily to the job site, not to an office location.
Schedule:
Regularly scheduled to work 40 hours a week. Typically 3 weeks away working, 1 week (7-10 days) at home. Willing to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays as needed in addition to regular travel.

Perform fusion splicing of single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cables in outdoor (aerial and underground) environments. Conduct OTDR, light source/power meter and fiber characterization testing to ensure splices meet client specifications and industry standards. Diagnose and repair issues in newly installed or existing fiber networks. Accurately record splicing details, fiber assignments and test results using company forms or digital reporting systems. Maintain up-to-date daily production logs and as-built documentation. Properly set up work zones, traffic control and utilize PPE at all times. Maintain, calibrate and safely operate fusion splicers, cleavers, OTDRs and other fiber tools and equipment. Report and coordinate calibration needs and equipment repair as required. Communicate effectively with project managers, field supervisors and construction crews to coordinate splicing work with broader project timelines. Support field quality control inspections and make corrections promptly when needed.
Requirements:
Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets the company’s minimum safety standards. Minimum 1 year of hands-on fiber splicing experience (fusion and/or mechanical). Familiar with OTDR testing, light source and power meter testing and interpreting fiber optic schematics. Understanding of fiber color codes and splicing matrix sheets. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Proficient in the operation and maintenance of splicing and testing equipment (e.g., fusion splicers, OTDRs, cleavers). Proficient in Internet-related applications such as email and web browsers. Thorough understanding of basic hand tools and power tools.
Able to meet physical requirements:
climb ladders, work in confined spaces and/or various heights, lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., squat, kneel, bend, crawl and stand for long periods of time. Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions, in confined spaces, and at heights when necessary (e.g., bucket trucks, ladders).
