Job Description

Fayetteville, AR, USA | Hourly | Full Time OzarksGo , based in Fayetteville, Arkansas a telecommunications subsidiary of Ozarks Electric Cooperative, offering all-fiber gigabit internet and premium television and telephone services to Northwest Arkansas and Northeast Oklahoma.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:

High school diploma or GED equivalent, plus specialized schooling or combination of education and experience.

EXPERIENCE

One to two years of previous experience in fiber optic installation, maintenance, and repair is preferred.

JOB KNOWLEDGE

&

Skills:

Proficient in splicing and terminating fiber optic cables and a variety of Cat cables. Must have experience identifying and troubleshooting issues in fiber optic networks, including signal loss, splicing problems, and other connectivity issues.

MAJOR JOB TASKS

+ Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues with installed systems or equipment and perform repairs, replacements, or upgrades to restore functionality. + Conduct thorough inspections of equipment to identify potential problems or areas of improvement. + Maintain detailed records of installations, repairs, and equipment specifications. Complete service reports, documenting actions taken and any recommendations for future maintenance. + Use Interpersonal skills for interaction with customers for installation requirements and issue resolution. + Supervise and perform quality control of internal and contracted installation and repair technicians. + Ensure that installations and repairs comply with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols. + Efficiently manage time to meet installation or repair deadlines. Prioritize tasks and respond promptly to service requests. + Work with electronic maps and documents and maintain records of work performed. + Provide guidance to customers on identifying and resolving simple problems without the need for technical assistance. + Preserves confidentiality of company issues when relating to staff, customers, and the public. + Supports the Bylaws, guidelines, policies, and philosophies of the company always. + Complete any IT/Security training as assigned. + Always supports the Mission Statement and Core Values. EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS

Contractors:

Supervise assigned installation contractors working on the system at any given time. To request and assist as required and to confer on problems as required to maintain efficient and effective systems. +

Customers:

To support and assist customers by demonstrating excellent communication skills to clearly understand the customer’s needs and concerns. subscribers to access the network.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

+ Must be able to operate all equipment normally found in an office environment. Must have valid driver’s license without violation, which would prohibit insurability. Must have experience operating trenching or plowing equipment. + Must be able to build drops to OzarksGo specifications and convey these specifications to drop contractors. Must have general PC abilities including Microsoft Office and tablet operating skills. Must be able to operate and navigate electronic maps. + Mostly outside and in the homes of customers. Some irregular hours may be required.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
