The Supervisory Medical Instrument Technician-Polysomnography plans and directs all tasks required to successfully complete ordered sleep studies and supervise Sleep Lab personnel. GS-10 Supervisory Medical Instrument Technician (Polysomnography): In addition to the core competencies defined the GS-9 level, positions this grade may be supervisory with specialized advanced knowledge and assignments. For this vacancy applicants must meet the Experience and all KSA’s listed below to be found qualified.

Experience:

At least 1 full year of experience comparable to the next lower grade level GS-9 , which is directly reled to the duties of the position to be filled. This would be experience which demonstres possession of the knowledge required to provide the most complex polysomnography technician services. Examples of this experience include but are not limited to the following; Knowledge of the more complex examinion and trement procedures and techniques in order to provide training and supervision in these procedures, to evalue and initie performance improvement projects, and to write policies, procedures, and protocols, th pertain to

Knowledge of JCAHO and other regulory requirements: Ability to communice effectively and professionally with employees varying grade levels.

Demonstred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Preferred Experience:

Experience with Sleep Lab Management and Oversight is preferred. For all specialties identified in this standard, Basic ( BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certificions are desirable. Training which does not result in official certificion does not meet this definition.
