Electronic Technician
Part-Time / 16 to 24 Hours Per Week (possibility to go to full-time)
Monday-Friday 7:30am-2:30pm / Flexible
$17.00 to $30.00 Per Hour
Work location is Panama City, Florida. RSAE Labs is seeking an Electronic Technician responsible for fabricating, repairing, and troubleshooting various electronic systems and devices.
Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and repair electronic systems and equipment such as computers, power supplies, communication devices, control systems, and industrial machinery.
Perform routine inspections and diagnostics on electronic systems to identify issues and malfunctions.
Utilize diagnostic tools and test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators) to troubleshoot and analyze faults.
Repair or replace faulty components, such as SMT resistors, capacitors, diodes, and other circuit elements.
Able to solder components as small as 0402 resistors and chips with lead spacing of 0.50mm.
Read and interpret circuit diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals to understand system layouts and identify necessary repairs.
Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to resolve complex electronic problems.
Capable of working well with others and working alone without supervision.
Perform software updates, system configurations, and firmware adjustments when needed.
Follow safety procedures and regulations to ensure that electronic equipment is properly handled and maintained.
Maintain accurate records of service history, repairs, and maintenance tasks.
Assist with the design and development of new electronic products and systems.
Stay up-to-date with the latest technological advancements in electronics and recommend improvements or upgrades to existing systems.
Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience as an electronic technician or in a similar role.
Strong understanding of electronic components, systems, and circuit design.
Proficiency with testing and diagnostic equipment.
Knowledge of electrical safety standards and procedures.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, circuit diagrams, and schematics.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Educational Requirements:
Associate’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Certifications in electronics or related fields (e.g., IPC, CET) are a plus.
Work Environment:
This role may involve working in various environments, including labs, production facilities, or customer locations.
May require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) depending on the nature of the work. Applicant must be a US citizen or Permanent Resident due to contract requirements.
