12 Months Position Overview We’re looking for a hands-on Equipment Technician to maintain and improve the performance of high-precision tools used in advanced manufacturing. You’ll play a key role in troubleshooting equipment issues, performing routine maintenance, and driving continuous improvement in a cleanroom production environment. Your expertise will directly impact uptime, equipment reliability, and overall process efficiency. Core ResponsibilitiesTechnical Maintenance & Repair Perform complex repairs and maintenance on precision tools, involving mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems. Troubleshoot issues related to motors, valves, actuators, linear motion systems, and more. Use instruments such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power meters to diagnose and resolve high/low voltage faults. Conduct PLC resets and analyze sensor data to identify root causes of alarms or sequence failures. Preventive Maintenance & Recordkeeping Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance based on established SOPs and equipment timelines. Log all maintenance activities using a CMMS (e.g., FIIX), and ensure accurate documentation of calibration and maintenance records. Performance Optimization & Continuous Improvement Analyze trends in equipment data to find inefficiencies or recurring issues. Collaborate on solutions using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to enhance MTBF and reduce unscheduled downtime. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with engineers, operators, and quality teams to support tool improvements and process development. Assist in experiments and data gathering during Design of Experiments (DOE) efforts. Liaise with external equipment vendors for troubleshooting, upgrades, and technical training. Training & Team Contribution Provide mentorship and on-the-job training to less-experienced technicians. Lead or participate in shift meetings, technical briefings, and documentation of work procedures. Support development of SOPs and maintenance manuals. Compliance & Safety Follow Class 100 cleanroom protocols, ESD safety procedures, and company safety policies. Promptly report and investigate safety issues and take part in corrective action planning. Required Skills & Background Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in components like actuators, bearings, and couplings. Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems using meters and circuit analysis tools. Knowledge of pneumatic system tuning and optimization. Comfortable working independently, including with remote vendor support tools. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with semiconductor equipment and wafer-handling robotics. Understanding of vacuum systems and cleanroom equipment. Experience in using vision systems and related troubleshooting. Certified in Six Sigma (Green Belt or similar) or background in continuous improvement practices. Skilled with lab/testing tools such as oscilloscopes and conductance testers. Calibration experience using Long-Term Stability (LTS) fixtures or similar equipment. Previous experience working in a cleanroom with ESD compliance. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering discipline, or completion of an accredited technical program. Ideally 3-4 years of experience maintaining high-tech or semiconductor manufacturing equipment. Recent graduates may be considered based on the relevance of coursework or hands-on training.
