AOI (Automatic Optical Inspection) Technician – Inspecting SMT board assemblies for defects utilizing AOI 3D and 2D equipment for conformance to IPC standards.

Inspecting activities:

auditing, documentation and verification. Good attention to details. Knowledge of IPC-610 work standards is a plus. AOI Technician Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) machines
  • Examine PCBs and CCAs to detect defects such as shorts, excess or missing solder, scratches, cracks, and placement of components.
  • Document defects found during examination of PCBs and CCAs.
  • Communicate defects to responsible personnel for enhancement of program integrity.
  • Support and follow all ISO standards related to the company’s various Quality Management Systems. These systems may include, but are not limited to, quality, the environment, health, safety and security.
  • Utilize inspection-gauging equipment to meet customer and IPC standards.
  • Utilize a bill of materials to identify customer part numbers for inspection requirements and values. AOI Technician Skills
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent is required

  • Knowledge of IPC workmanship standards
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Basic math and equipment measurement skills
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions written and verbally communicated in English
  • Computer literate
