Job Summary:
The Water Purification Technician/Installer will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and service repairs on marine water maker units. This position will also be responsible for the installation of new units or replacement parts for existing units according to specifications and established safety guidelines.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform troubleshooting, diagnosis, service, and repair of marine water marker systems. Troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits for faults and open circuits Test pipe or tubing joints or connections for leaks Join pipes or tubing to equipment and/or water or refrigerant source, to form a complete circuit Install new and reroute existing electrical as needed Reassemble and test equipment following repairs Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring Layout and connect electrical wiring between controls and equipment, according to wiring diagrams, using electrician’s hand tools Comply with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area Inspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions Perform other related duties as required Willingness to learn troubleshooting, diagnostics, servicing, and repairs of marine air conditioning and refrigeration systems as needed based on business demands is a plus.
Requirements:
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Possess a valid Florida driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Understanding of basic hand tool usage, including meters, gauges, drills, and saws etc. Availability for overtime and/or weekend work Ability to solve problems and troubleshoot Capacity to work in a team environment and independently Good oral and written communication skills Strong attention to detail Must be able to lift and bend frequently; must be able to routinely lift and move up to 50 lbs. without assistance; capable of working in indoor and outdoor settings; exposure to hot and humid environments; comfortable in confided spaces aboard marine vessels at times.
Required Experience:
2+ years’ experience in marine water purification/ reverse osmosis servicing and installations experience preferred. EPA certification or the ability to obtain one is preferred – timeframe based on specific job duties.
Required Education:
Minimum High school diploma, ABYC electrical certification is preferred. HVAC accredited schooling completion required.
