This job requires travel outside of Florida for training and employment.
FTTH Technicians are responsible for the installation and maintenance of cabling in private and commercial environments. This includes installation, termination and testing of low voltage/network cables
and fiber optic cables. We provide on-the-job training for individuals wanting to learn the industry.
Responsibilities:
Install, disconnect, reconnect, add, change, and troubleshoot fiber optic internet in accordance with guidelines.
Efficiently run fiber optic lines from telephone pole to private houses Ensure that service operates within prescribed parameters by performing testing on company issued devices and customer devices.
Attempt to identify and remedy sources of customer-perceived issues.
Communicate with customer prior and during drop installation
Greet and interact with customer including when responding to escalations and repeated customer concerns;
Review all requested services with the customer in order to ensure understanding and agreement;
Educate the customer regarding product and service usage.
Drive a company vehicle between home/office, warehouse, and work sites.
Clean, maintain, and stock vehicle and equipment in order to be repaired to perform required duties.
Effectively and accurately record daily production on job site maps and with management
Complete paperwork accurately and report and record work order status updates.
Acquire necessary materials and inventory from warehouse for each job site
Qualifications:
All positions require participation in the federally compliant FMSCA drug and alcohol testing program. This includes both pre-employment and ongoing random testing. Willingness and ability to travel outside Florida – Expenses are covered by Employer
Must be 18 years or older due to hazardous occupation
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Fiber optic experience preferred, but employer will train. Fiber certifications desirable
Time management and multitasking skills
Communicate with management and team members
Ability to work in an outdoor environment during all times of the year
Ability to lift and operate necessary materials to include small hand tools, power tools, and test equipment.
Ability to travel and work extended hours; overtime and weekends as needed
Valid driver’s license for required travel
Minimum of 2 years driving experience
Work Schedule:
Full Time + Overtime as needed
Salary:
$15.00 during training period, then $18.75-$45.00 per hour, production based Benton Technical Services is an EOE.
