THE ROLE

The Shop Technician III will be responsible for performing routine inspections, preventative maintenance and servicing various products as directed. Diagnose and report any damage to the Manager. In this role, the individual will also create an accurate and legible parts and repair list, manually or digitally, for assigned product. Use software applications to document tear down inspections and rebuild processes. Review list of parts with Manager and obtain approval to continue with servicing and repair. Test all repaired equipment for proper operation and quality.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Troubleshoot electrical systems and pump end issues and repair/rebuild as necessary using computerized diagnostic tools.
Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance and service various products as directed. Diagnose and report any damage to the Manager.
Create an accurate and legible parts and repair list, manually or digitally, for assigned product. Review list of parts with Manager and obtain approval to continue with servicing and repair.
Test all repaired equipment for proper operation and quality.
Assist with shipping and receiving.
Assist with inventory control processes.
Perform preventative maintenance on Company vehicles and shop support equipment as directed (air dryer, chain saws, lifts, etc.).
Train new service or other shop personnel and customers, as needed, in service and/or other related standard work.
Maintain a safe work environment by following EHS&S guidelines, policies and best practices.
Additional duties and responsibilities may be required based on organizational needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma of equivalent required. Two-year technical training or equivalent preferred.
Three to five years of experience and/or formal training or combination of education and training preferred.
Three to five years of equipment maintenance experience in wastewater collection or treatment systems preferred.
Medium voltage experience a plus (~4160V) preferred.
Ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues.
Thorough understanding of the methods, materials, tools and techniques used in equipment repair and maintenance.
Ability to work independently with little or no supervision; self-motivated and self-directed.
Working knowledge of iPad and/or Tablet for PDF viewing.
Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools and lifting equipment.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers, co-workers and managers both verbally and in writing.
Ability to demonstrate logical troubleshooting processes.
Familiarity with fluke meter and megger testing.

DAY IN THE LIFE

In this role, the working environment is primarily shop/warehouse, some office work using a laptop/CPU, increased temperatures – especially during the long summer months, use of PPE, exposures to hazardous material, loud noise, some use of rose bud torches, e and the physical demands may include but not limited to standing for long periods of time, occasional sitting, lifting up to 50 lbs, use of various tools of different sizes and uses.. In addition, this role may occasional travel both in and out of state, and there are occasions where weekends or longer hours during the week will be required.
