Valhalla is a family-owned and operated leader in the marine manufacturing industry, specializing in semi-custom, high-end fiberglass luxury and performance center consoles ranging from 28 to 55 feet. Summary Performs electronic and electrical service and repair tasks on boats utilizing various power and hand-tools, regularly beating budget and schedule. Ability to install complete electronic systems and troubleshoot complex electronic / electrical problems. Works independently to complete assignments. Lay out, install, test, troubleshoot, repair and modify marine navigational, communication, entertainment and electrical systems. Responsibilities Able to install and troubleshoot all forms of electronic marine systems and equipment and provide creative solutions to complex installation problems. Perform complex installation, diagnosis, and repair of marine navigational, communication, entertainment, electrical and computer systems following blueprints and manufacturers’ specifications, using hand-tools and test instrumentation. Sets up and knows how to operate most marine electronics and can perform software programming as necessary to complete installations. Skilled in reading, drawing and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams and schematics. Test electronic / electrical components and circuits to diagnose and locate defects using oscilloscopes, signal generators, ammeters, and voltmeters. May operate equipment to check functioning of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions. Align, adjust, calibrate, repair, and modify circuitry and components and report on unit performance. May discuss layout and assembly procedures and problems with engineers to create alternate solutions for difficult installations. Interprets work orders and plans projects to be completed; may perform electrical design tasks. Qualifications Proven experience as a Marine Electrical / Electronics Technician in the marine industry. Strong electrical / electronics knowledge with hands-on experience in boat installation and repair. Familiarity with electrical systems and troubleshooting techniques is essential. Ability to fabricate components using various materials and tools effectively. Proficient in using power tools, calipers, and other technical equipment safely. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all tasks performed. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration within the team.
