Position:

Master Technician (Miami, FL.)

Base Pay Offer:

$44.00 and up. (Salary available if desired) Mon-Fri 7:30am-4:30pm as standard; may be asked to work overtime and/or weekends as necessary. ACW Export Service Work overseas with Per Diem is also available.

General Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides exceptional service to clients, addressing their needs and concerns with professionalism and expertise. Maintains advanced technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks. Fosters continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Performs related work as required and requested, as the duties are only illustrative and are not intended to describe every function of the position to be performed by the classification. Leads troubleshooting and preventative maintenance team by providing guidance and development derived from in the field experience. Must be willing to mentor and support developing technicians.

General Requirements:
  • Bilingual speaker (English/Spanish) strongly preferred in Miami positions.
  • Extensive prior service experience with air compressor systems required.
  • Kaeser training and certification strongly preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of Kaeser, Power-ex, Champion, Gardner Denver and Ingersoll Rand strongly preferred.
  • 10 year experience mechanical, technical, electrical, HVAC, or maintenance.
  • Vacuum pump knowledge strongly preferred.
  • Sigma Air Management (SAM) experience strongly preferred.
  • Networking skills and familiarity with basic communications protocol is strongly preferred, including ability to terminate cat5 RJ45 cables.
  • Must be familiar with all standard valves and proper diagnostic/rebuild processes.
  • Detailed understanding of 3 phase power configurations and applications.
  • Advanced knowledge of pumps & motors.
  • Advanced knowledge of high and low voltage systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical troubleshooting and control system diagnostics including contactors, relays, NC/NO circuits, alarm circuits, etc.
  • Advanced applicable understanding and knowledge of how to service, diagnose, repair all components of compressed air circuits to include dryers (including desiccant), boosters, wet and dry tanks, pressure sensors, and all types of filters.
  • Must have large collection of own tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Must be able to understand electrical and pneumatic schematics, and service manual parts diagrams.
  • Knowledge of piping (sizes, types, uses).
  • EPA Section 608 Type I, Type II or Universal certification Medical Gas Certification 6040 a strong plus.

OSHA 10 or able to obtain in 30 days. Expectations Possess and apply deep prior knowledge of air compressors and ancillary equipment to be a successful and productive addition to the ACW team. Successfully complete onboarding process and begin working as lead technician with company vehicle with no additional training. Understand and implement Lock Out/Tag out and isolation of energy. Strong understanding of Kaeser and/or non Kaeser control system interfaces. Strong understanding of all air compressors systems and variants. Ability to fully diagnose compressors, dryers circuits (including HVAC), boosters, vacuum, and associated equipment with standard diagnostic equipment. Familiarity and ability to apply all industry standard troubleshooting equipment. Learn IT systems for ACW field technicians and use systems to record detailed summaries of fault findings and identify parts required for efficient follow ups. Independently perform accurate high level electrical diagnostics on incoming power, AC/DC circuits, high/low voltage circuits, control and alarm circuit diagnostics, switches, contactors, relays, transformers. Independently perform accurate high level mechanical diagnostics on oil circuits and separators, air ends, piston systems, pumps, motors and associated systems, condensers, valves, solenoids, etc. Able to diagnose independently high level mechanical and electrical failures and implement best solutions/repairs efficiently. Ability to properly implement sound troubleshooting methods to deliver correct initial results and minimize call-backs due to misdiagnosis. Ability to communicate findings to customers in large industrial settings professionally and effectively. Possess or develop ability to install and program air compressor network management systems such as Kaeser SAM, and possesses a working knowledge of network and communications cables and terminations. Will maintain vehicle equipment, parts, and supply inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
