Fiber Splicer Woodlawn FiberWorks Pinellas County, FL Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fiber Optics Splicer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunication systems, ensuring high-quality connectivity for our clients. This role requires a strong understanding of computer networking and cabling, as well as the ability to work with various tools and equipment in both indoor and outdoor environments. Responsibilities Install, splice, and terminate fiber optic cables Perform routine maintenance on telecommunication systems to ensure optimal performance Collaborate with team members to build and enhance telecom infrastructure Operate tools safely and effectively while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used. Record and document testing per customer specifications. Perform daily duties in a safe manner. Maintain a professional working attitude with co-workers and customers at all times. Further industry knowledge on an ongoing basis. Uphold quality workmanship surpassing industry standards. Must possess basic fiber splicing tools, including fusion splicer and OPM. Must have reliable transportation to travel to worksites in Pinellas County and surrounding areas. Skills Experience with cabling techniques for fiber optic splicing, termination, and repair. Perform testing utilizing OTDRs, Power Meter/Light Sources and VFLs. Able to read prints and other engineering documentation. Demonstrated understanding of fiber counts and colors. Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Knowledge of telecommunications protocols. Ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients. Competence in using tools safely in various environments. Physical ability to work outdoors in extreme heat.
