Maintenance Specialist 
Salary $37,440.00 – $56,160.00 Annually Location Public Works, FL Job Type Full-Time Job Number 202500007 Department Public Works Division Maintenance Operations – Facilities Opening Date 05/01/2025 Position Under direction, performs responsible janitorial and skilled manual work of ordinary difficulty and responsibility in performing trades activities in the care and maintenance of various municipal buildings. Although the employee works independently and is often physically removed from supervision, duties are performed within the framework of pre-established policies and procedures. Purpose of the work is in general upkeep of municipal structures and facilities. Duties include performing related semi-skilled work in coordination with the efforts of other maintenance and trades employees. Job Duties

• Loads and unloads heavy materials from trucks and vans; moves or aids in moving heavy boxes, equipment and larger or bulky objects.
• Performs general and specialized maintenance and repair work, including such activities as carpentry, painting, glazing, masonry, roofing, and plumbing on municipal buildings, equipment, and facilities.
• Reviews and interprets manufacturer’s instructions, diagrams, sketches, charts and schematics.
• Operates municipal vehicles/motorized equipment.
• Assists in making simple repairs to building equipment and furniture.
• Assists in development and implementing of a regular preventative maintenance program.
• Makes visual inspections to determine proper repair, service, and maintenance of mechanical and electrical apparatus.
• Assists in Establishing methods and procedures for repair and maintenance.
• Performs the repairs, modifications, and replacement of components.
• Monitors control systems and electrical panels.
• Assists supervisor with project support in coordinating the overhaul and new design of City facilities with engineers and contractors.
• Maintains records of services and maintenance.
• Requisitions parts, components and equipment, ensuring proper stock and inventory levels for frequently utilized parts and components.
• Troubleshoot, repair, install and maintain electrical systems, electronic systems, electric motors, generators, switches, circuit breakers, fuse boxes, lighting and HVAC equipment.
• Performs plumbing work such as repairing lavatory facilities, water fountains, installs sinks, garbage disposals, urinals, and water closets.
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, circuits and fixtures.
• Performs related duties as directed when such duties are a logical and appropriate assignment to the position.

Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent; with two (2) years of skilled trade, craft or maintenance experience, demonstrating broad exposure to two or more of the trade disciplines, e.g., painting, carpentry, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, preferred; or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience.
