Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Analyze and correct electrical problems, repair, and overhaul electrical equipment and controls, and install and modify electrical, production manufacturing, and other plant equipment

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Analyze existing processes to identify areas for automation.
  • Design, implement, and maintain automated systems and processes to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Provide training and documentation for end-users regarding automated processes or changes to existing processes as a result of implementing automation solutions.
  • Analyzes circuits, wiring diagrams drawings and programs necessary to install, repair, calibrate or service electrical and electronic devices and PLC systems.
  • Perform work which requires a thorough knowledge of electrical theory and principles, statutory codes and principles of operation of electrical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures independently or as part of a team assigned to the problem.
  • Perform electrical maintenance work which may involve climbing, rigging, and exposure to heat and chemicals. Such potential hazards may necessitate the use of specialized equipment such as harnesses, SCBA, respirators, dust masks and other personal protective clothing and equipment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement processes.
  • Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues affecting cohesiveness.
  • Actively looks for ways and reinforces actions needed, in order to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.
  • Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.

Educational Requirements:

Associate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or rated experience in the workforce.

Technical Experience:

Control Circuits, PLC, Cloud-Base Automation. Proficiency with 480 3-phase electrical systems, power distribution and control equipment.

Experience Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in industrial electronics, automation, software development, or systems engineering.

Industry Experience:
Manufacturing Machinery and Equipment Required Technical Competencies:

NES and local codes; thoroughly familiar of all codes. Strong knowledge of all OSHA electrical requirements. Able to read and interpret blueprints (complex, detailed). Able to operate or learn hi-lift, forklift, and cranes. Able to operate a variety of electrical test equipment and power hand tools. Experience with one or several of the following: PLC software platforms, RS Logix 500/5000, Simatic Step 7/TIA Portal, Machine Expert Basic, GXWorks2, Direct Logic PLC Software, CodeSYS or any similar PLC development environment
