Description Summary/Objective The Certified Class 3 Water and Wastewater Operator (WWO) Mechanic and Electrical Technician performs skilled electrical and mechanical work as well as troubleshooting abilities in the installation, alteration, maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical systems, equipment and fixtures in a Land Application System and related facilities. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Operates and assists LAS personnel with the operations of the following systems: Process Water, Wastewater, SCADA, and PLC based control systems, data collection and reporting. Assists with the collection and handling of water, wastewater, stormwater, and soil samples, testing of physical and chemical properties, as well as preparation for transport to contract laboratories. Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform major and minor repair work on motors, pumps, controls, valves, hydraulic equipment, aerators, filters, automatic sprinkler systems, and other plant equipment. Install, replace, repair, modify, and fabricate parts, equipment, and systems as necessary for continued operation. Install plant-related conduits, wires, relays, pull boxes, switch boards and switches required in making additions or alterations in electrical systems. Preventive Maintenance and record keeping on all systems. Calibration of chemical injection and flow metering equipment and various field water quality meters. Spray field and landscape maintenance including grass, trees, shrubbery, erosion control, fence maintenance and repair, etc. Perform other general maintenance and housekeeping duties as needed. Work Environment This job operates primarily outside with the candidate being able to work in a hot, cold, moist and dirty environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, sit, walk, stand, and hear. This employee may be required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, and frequently lift up to 50 Ibs. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. but may vary as needed. Rotating weekend coverage and occasional overtime may be required as job duties demand. Travel Little to no travel is expected for this position.
