Panel Shop Technician 4.1 4.1 out of 5 stars 107 1/2 Commission Blvd, Lafayette, LA 70508 Panel Shop Technician We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Panel Shop Technician to join our team. This role involves troubleshooting, maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of controls systems, PLC panels, and pneumatic equipment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with controls panel construction and refurbishment, as well as a strong understanding of electrical and pneumatic systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Performs routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on assigned systems equipment, including PLCs and controls panels. Diagnose, repair, and construct pneumatic systems, PLC panels, and related components. Build control panels according to electrical schematics and technical drawings Tear down and refurbish panels to the component level, including wiring installation for PLC and control systems. Refurbish cable connections and fabricate new cables as needed. Install, dismantle, inspect, and repair pneumatic equipment; replace defective parts and refurbish components. Use basic technical principles to identify systems and equipment issues and make necessary repairs or coordinate additional diagnostics Construct custom shipping crates for safe transport of PLC panels Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to operational procedures and safety guidelines

Qualifications:

Experience with control panel construction and electrical wiring Familiarity with PLC systems and pneumatic equipment Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Mechanically Inclined Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read a tape measure Ability to use basic hand tools and power tools. Ability to lift 50lbs. Basic computer skills are a plus.
