We have ongoing maintenance and project contracts for the oil and gas sector. We require personnel with a minimum of 3 years offshore, experience. Candidates must have up to date craft and offshore certification. Job Description The Instrument Technician is responsible for conducting, maintaining, testing and repairing and new installation Instrument systems. This position applies knowledge of Instrument and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation. Roles and Responsibilities Plans layout and installation in accordance with instructions or work requirements using drawings, blueprints, sketches and specifications. Plans new or modified installations in compliance to P&ID’s, Safe Charts and schematics. Knowledge of various pneumatic and hydraulic system architectures and functionalities. Knowledge of hydraulic pumps, dump valves, check valves in tear down and repair. Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs tubing and piping. Performs multi-line panel breakout and configures group tubing runs. Mounts and installs control panels, instruments, and associated control/sensing devices. Measures, cuts, and assembles tubing tray and tubing tray support systems. Installs tubing and clamps into tubing tray systems. Observes function of installed equipment and system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement. Repairs or replaces faulty tubing, valves, instruments, and other devices. Maintains technical competence by attending all classes and meetings as required. Adheres to established company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations. Wears all appropriate safety equipment (PPE). Obeys and follows all safety rules. Perform other duties as assigned by the Foreman/Supervisor/Superintendent. Commit and follow the chain of command set on a per job bases. Able to create, maintain, and enforce daily JSEA/permit to work knowledge of LOTO for valves Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
