ENGINEERING DESIGN TECHNICIAN
| KCMO A power solutions manufacturer is seeking an Engineering Design Technician to support the creation and revision of technical drawings and 3D models for electrical, mechanical, and software teams. This contract-to-hire role involves using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor to develop production-ready designs, collaborating cross-functionally, and ensuring documentation accuracy. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to innovative energy solutions and transition to a permanent role. Anticipate $24-$28/hour, may go higher for the right candidate Onsite in
KCMO, M-F, 40
hours per week Ideally, this person would be converted to FT employee (based on performance)
Key Responsibilities:
Create and revise 2D and 3D designs for mechanical, electrical, and structural components using AutoCAD and Inventor. Develop technical drawings, schematics, and assembly layouts for production and installation. Collaborate with engineers to translate concepts into production-ready designs. Maintain drawing files and documentation using version control (e.g., Autodesk Vault). Assist in troubleshooting design issues and provide timely updates based on feedback. Ensure compliance with company standards and support design review processes.
Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Drafting & Design, or related field (preferred). 1+ years of experience in technical drafting and engineering design support. Proficiency in AutoCAD (Electrical preferred) and Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks. Strong collaboration and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and deadlines. Experience with version control systems (e.g., Autodesk Vault) is a plus. EEO
