This Position is for an Electrical Technician II with a work location in Pascagoula, MS.Electrical Technician IIJob LocationsUS-MS-PascagoulaClearance RequiredSecret CategoryEngineering Technician IIOverviewR&P is looking for an experienced Marine Electrician / Technician II to fill a full-time position undertaking a variety of tasks relating to installing, repairing, and troubleshooting electrical and electronic equipment onboard U.S. Navy ships in Pascaguala, MS. This position will involve installing electrical cabling, building various electrical connectors, Installation of hardware and troubleshooting malfunctions in several different electrical and electronic systems. Due to the high amount of risk pertaining to this job, electricians must be first and foremost responsible individuals with great attention to safety precautions. The ideal candidate must also be experienced in different kinds of electrical devices and systems.
ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and execute plans of electrical installations for many different electrical and electronic systems such as lighting, announcing, 115VAC/440VAC/24DVC electrical plant equipment, Uninterrupted Power Supply equipment, Audio/Video equipment, Antenna systems and many othersInstall electrical cabinets, fixtures, and equipment for various electrical systemsInstall safety and distribution components (e.g., switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels etc.)Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks using various

connectorsPull in cables of various lengths and sizes to accommodate system connectionsPerform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair/replace damaged equipmentInstall, tag and band copper cables on various classes of surface and submarine Naval Vessels.
Performing all duties required to layout, fabricate, and install electrical wiring, coaxial cable, onboard Navy vessels.
Troubleshooting and testing of copper cables and circuits.
Possess skills and abilities to perform the requirements of a shipboard or airframe electrician’s trade with little supervision or guidance.
Knowing how to read and interpret drawings, specifications, technical manuals, design notices, etc.
Knowing and understanding the use of all tools of their trade such as multi-meters, pin crimper’s, soldering and expected to accomplish the more complex tasks associated with electrical installation of cable, military circular connectors, panel box and power terminations, etc.
Familiar with basic computer skillsFamiliar with MS-Office programs including Word and Excel. QualificationsMust be a Marine Electrician with a minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience working in ship repair onboard US Navy ships (technical education may be substituted for a portion of the experience requirement)Must have experience and multi-pin copper connector certification of cables per Navy Standard Item 009-73 (MIL-STD-2003-5)Must be familiar with NAVY Standard ItemsAbility to read, understand and follow customer work item requirements, drawings, and wiring diagrams.
Individual must have a keen attention to detail and be quality metric drivenMust be a US citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearance (current active Secret clearance is a plus).Successful completion of Navy “A” School (“C” School is a plus) or successful completion of a Shipyard or commercial Electrical apprenticeship program (recognized shipyard apprentice graduates are a plus).Minimum of 4 years’ experience as a Navy Electrician’s Mate or Gas Turbine Systems Technician (Electrical) preferredSecret DOD security Clearance preferredProven experience as an electricianExperience in marine electrical systemsDemonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g. wire strippers, voltmeter etc.
