This is a Job Description for an Electronic Technician in Pascagoula, MS.
Summary:
The Electronics Technician is responsible for installing and repairing wiring, fixtures, and equipment for all electronic systems aboard vessels and within the facility.
Duties & Responsibilities•:•Interpret and follow blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Work from elevated platforms such as scaffolding, aerial platforms, and lifts. Install equipment including connection boxes, control cabinets, equipment racks, mast antennas, and instrument panels. Utilize hand tools, rulers, and hand power/pneumatic tools as required. Adhere to specifications during installations and repairs. Connect circuits to various systems, including internal and external communications, alarms, monitoring systems, radar, sonar, fire control, networking, and other electronic equipment. Conduct tests on electrical characteristics, including voltage, resistance, network testing, RF VSWR line sweeps, fiber optic transmission, and point-to-point testing using specialized meters and testing equipment.
Requirementsand Qualifications[]{#_Hlk142289191}[]{#_Hlk142304825}: Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and schematics. Experience in military connector fabrication. Expertise in epoxy fiber optic termination and testing. Competency in RF termination and testing. Experience in Cat-5/6 network termination and testing. Prior experience as an electrician or electronics technician is required, with a preference for work in an industrial or shipyard environment. Formal training in any of the following areas is preferred: Connector fabrication. Epoxy fiber optic termination. RF VSWR line sweep. Networking infrastructure.
