Fiber Optic Underground Installation Apprentice SE Underground LLC West Jefferson, NC 28694 Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and eager Apprentice to join our team. This entry-level position is designed for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the telecommunications field. The Apprentice will work under the guidance of experienced professionals, learning essential skills related to cabling, and the use of various tools and equipment. This role is ideal for those who are passionate about building a career in underground fiber optic telecommunications. Must be 18 years or older. Responsibilities Show up to work on time and have excellent communication skills with everyone. Assist in the installation and maintenance of fiber optic cabling systems for telecommunications applications. Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete tasks. Support the team in troubleshooting issues. Learn to read and interpret maps of cable. Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Basic knowledge of locating and fiber optic cable construction preferred but not required. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and safety equipment. Ability to climb ladder, not afraid of heights. (training will be provided). Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Willingness to learn new skills and take direction from experienced professionals. Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment. A valid driver’s license is required.
