Job Title:

Engineering Services Test Technician Job Description This position is for an Engineering Services Test Technician who will be under direct supervision at the Interiors Engineering Development Lab (EDL). The role involves performing moderately complex technical tasks that contribute to the planning and execution of engineering projects. The technician may also serve as a resource on varied tasks. Responsibilities Work with peers and engineers to build and test commercial aircraft seats and furniture. Provide technical support to engineers on a variety of tasks. Confer with engineers on details and implications of test article build test procedures. Set up and prepare test equipment for crash testing airplane seats. Perform tasks with precision and speed in a fast-paced environment similar to a NASCAR pit crew. Essential Skills Associate’s degree (AA/AS) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school. Minimum 3 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient with a variety of hand tools. Proficient with basic mechanical and manufacturing concepts. Basic computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Working knowledge of engineering drawing interpretations. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in a highly regulated industry, especially aerospace or automotive. Experience working in a testing and quality assurance environment. Well-organized with solid judgment, able to multitask and adjust to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated knowledge of metal machining and fabrication equipment. Work Environment The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:45 PM, with a 45-minute lunch break. Occasional overtime, including weekends, will be required based on team consensus. Training is on-the-job with an assigned mentor, and the physical work location is Winston Salem, NC. The interview process involves a 1-hour panel interview, which can be conducted onsite for local candidates or virtually via Zoom for those not local to Winston Salem, NC.
