VDC Field Technician iENG Design is seeking a qualified professional to join our Virtual Design Construction (VDC) team. iENG’s method of engineering is unique: We begin with the end in mind, and we challenge everything. We are seeking a VDC Field Technician to join our VDC team. This position is primarily based out of our office in Charlotte, NC and will provide both remote and onsite technical support for all active projects. Our ideal candidate for this role is someone with 3+ years of experience in CAD and a strong expertise in scanning and/or surveying, with a particular focus on layout. This role is crucial to our Field Technology Department, contributing to the development of layout standards and researching innovative layout and technology solutions. This candidate will bring a strong sense of leadership, direction, and a commitment to optimizing project layouts. Primary responsibilities for iENG’s VDC Field Technician include: Operating survey equipment, including but not limited to Trimble RTS and Trimble Scanners. Providing direct layout support to field staff on multiple projects. Planning and leading 3D scanning projects with efficiency and accuracy. Processing shop drawing-level 3D scans using Autodesk Recap. Scheduling and facilitating meetings with project teams to determine project-specific layout plans. Collaborating effectively with the VDC team to transfer designed points from the model to the field. Coordinating with VDC, Project Managers, and field crew to meet pour deadlines. Performing maintenance and calibration of equipment. Identifying and resolving complex issues related to layout and site conditions. Collaborating with the Field Technology Group to optimize company and department standards. Continually developing personal layout and scanning skills to keep up with evolving technology. Primary qualifications for iENG’s VDC Field Technician include: Associate degree in Applied Science or equivalent experience in CAD Drafting, surveying, or a related field is required. Proficiency with Trimble Total Stations/Scanners and Trimble Fieldlink required. Experience in AutoCAD and REVIT. Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Ability to safely lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs. Willing to travel on an as needed basis. Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks. Strong work ethic and ability to work both independently and in a team with minimal supervision. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to identify potential issues and develop creative solutions.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Salary Range:
