Fiber Optic Technician 2.8 2.8 out of 5 stars Wilmington, NC 28411 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Fiber Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in low voltage systems and experience with various networking equipment. As a Fiber Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fiber optic cabling systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability for our clients. Duties Install and maintain fiber optic cabling and associated equipment in residential and commercial settings. Perform testing and troubleshooting of fiber optic networks using tools such as an Ohmmeter. Work with Cisco routers and other networking devices to ensure proper connectivity and functionality. Utilize hand tools to complete installations and repairs efficiently. Collaborate with service technicians to resolve any issues related to telephone systems and Ethernet connections. Conduct regular inspections of cabling systems to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational efficiency. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding installation processes and service updates. Experience Proven experience in low voltage installations, particularly in fiber optics, is preferred. Familiarity with mechanical knowledge related to cabling systems is a plus. Experience working with Ethernet networks and telephone systems is beneficial. Proficiency in using hand tools and testing equipment relevant to the role. Previous experience as a service technician or in a similar technical role is advantageous.
