Job Description

Summary Maintains, repairs and troubleshoots systems to maintain Operational Availability for the USMC. The Electronics Maintenance Technician II applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to apply basic and some advanced technical knowledge to solve routine problems by interpreting Original Equipment Manufacturer’s manuals or similar documents. Work requires familiarity with the interrelationship of circuits, and judgment in planning work sequences, tool selection and testing instruments. Work is reviewed for compliance and accepted practices. Able to provide technical guidance to lower-level Technicians. The pay rate for this position is $29.77/hour + $4.93/hour H&W. Please note this is an on-call position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Flexibility to have work scheduled in an on-call / as required nature. Maintains, repairs, troubleshoots, modifies and installs various types of electronic equipment and related devices. Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions and repairing equipment to its normal operation. Implements quality control and review procedures throughout maintenance and reporting requirements. Applies skill in restoring equipment operation and evaluating system performance. Documents all maintenance actions by inputting data in the Management Information System. Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair actions on various training systems and components. Complete maintenance records, logbooks, and inventories. Shall be proficient with current and future versions of simulation operating software and hardware fielded as part of the CCS. Supervision None Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma, GED or equivalent, supplemented by appropriate trade school training. 3(+) years experience in the field of electronics, electronic security systems, electricity or similar activity, sufficient to provide a broad technical knowledge of electronics equipment. Thorough understanding of USMC standards used in the performance of maintenance actions. Technical ability to troubleshoot failures down to discreet component level by applying knowledge in electronics and logical fault diagnostic abilities. Familiar with Microsoft office software operation and use. Excellent communication skills. Able to pass a background check. Valid driver’s license. Must be a disciplined worker capable of meeting short suspense. Must be able to support shifts that occur outside normal working hours to support 24/7 operations during exercise events that may be in excess of 40 hours per week. Preferred Qualifications Graduate of two year or four year electronic technician resident course at an accredited technical school or university or equivalent military education and experience. Physical Demands The employee is regularly required to talk, including the ability to pass on information via the telephone, and verbally communicate with clients, staff and other employees, hear and see in order to perform his or her duties in a safe manner, including occasionally driving. The ability to lift up to 50 lbs., walk, bend, push, pull and stand is needed to perform all requirements of this position. Typically will have full dexterity of limbs to feel, reach, sit, kneel, stand, crawl or climb on small stepladders not to exceed 10 feet. The work environment can vary from office/warehouse environment to field work outdoors depending on the mission and support required.
