Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Machinist Maintenance Technician with industrial electrical experience and expertise in PLC system control to perform complex maintenance and troubleshooting on machine tools, equipment, and processes. A key responsibility involves operating CNC equipment, lathes, milling machines, and other shop equipment for part fabrication, along with electrical and automation systems maintenance.
Responsibilities:
Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures. Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical deficiencies on equipment and facilities. Perform industrial electrical maintenance and repairs, including wiring, sensors, and control systems. Program, diagnose, and troubleshoot PLC system controls to support manufacturing operations. Complete one-time work orders efficiently. Maintain drawing and document control. Execute maintenance functions in compliance with governmental regulations. Procure necessary repair parts from the store room. Assist with equipment design and development. Maintain the maintenance shop and production machinery. Fabricate and design parts for in-house use and engineering projects. Communicate with suppliers and vendors, as needed. Maintain housekeeping standards in the shop and work areas. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or GED (required). Associate’s degree in Machinist/Maintenance/Mechanical Technology or equivalent certification (preferred). Minimum of 3 years’ experience in maintenance within a manufacturing environment. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in direct machinist-type job functions. Experience in industrial electrical maintenance, including troubleshooting wiring, sensors, and electrical control systems. Proficiency in PLC system control, including programming and diagnostics. Proficiency in Microsoft Office & AutoCAD or equivalent modeling software. Strong mathematical skills for precision-based tasks. Experience in metal fabrication, welding, and machining.
Skills & Abilities:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic. Team-oriented, able to collaborate effectively. Self-starter, capable of working independently. Mechanically and electrically inclined, with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems. Ability to operate hand and power tools. Experience with rigging, equipment setting, and alignment. Drafting skills (AutoCAD) to create necessary drawings.
Physical Demands:
This role involves hands-on work in a production environment with regular use of machinery and electrical systems.
Candidates must be able to:
Lift up to 75 lbs. frequently throughout an 8-12 hour shift. Stand, walk, kneel, squat, and bend during manufacturing processes. Climb stairs and ladders as needed. Work in awkward positions including overhead and below-knee tasks. Push/pull toolboxes throughout the facility.
