Electronics Technician – Audio/Video devices

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Laboratory Technician will be primarily responsible for testing IT and Audio/Video devices within the High Tech Lab, while also supporting testing activities in other laboratory areas as needed. This is an on-site position based in the RTP lab, with a Monday through Friday schedule.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Set up and perform testing of IT/AV equipment and test setups for clients.
Build and adapt setups and test equipment based on datasheets, blueprints, schematics, and engineering instructions.
Operate test machines and laboratory equipment, performing routine maintenance and basic calibrations as needed.
Follow defined test plans and datasheets, properly evaluating and recording test performance and results.
Prepare and complete test reports, recording data accurately on standard forms.
Communicate with clients and internal teams during setups and testing to ensure proper evaluation and address test methods or results.
Assist in planning tests, evaluating results, and providing opinions and interpretations under supervision.
Recommend new equipment designs and process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Apply basic continuous improvement techniques in daily activities.
Work with minimal supervision within established guidelines, escalating complex cases when necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
Higher Secondary Education plus three years related experience preferred.
Effective communication skills and ability to interact with customers.
Proven ability to be innovative and creative.
Desire to work in a team-oriented environment. Ability to use Microsoft Office suite is a must. Ability to incorporate automation into day-to-day testing.
