Job Title:

Substation Engineering Technician Job Description Under close supervision, the Substation Engineering Technician performs engineering technician work requiring basic technical knowledge utilizing electronic applications, processes, standards, and document control procedures for the purpose of creating or modifying deliverables. Responsibilities Develop familiarity with engineering standards by reading, understanding, and maintaining a working knowledge of standards, systems, document control, departmental guides, and company policies and procedures. Ensure deliverables are accurate and compliant by understanding and complying with the quality program. Demonstrate personal accuracy and support continuous improvement and change management efforts. Learn the applications required to modify less complex deliverables based on various design inputs. Identify the needs of internal clients and begin to understand the main interests and drivers of external clients. Proactively seek and share knowledge of the latest technologies and processes. Essential Skills Working knowledge of Computer Automated Drafting Design (CADD) or other applications or design or modeling skills. Basic knowledge of engineering standards, systems, document control, departmental guides, and company policies and procedures. Basic industry knowledge and technology trends. Basic knowledge of the company quality program. Additional Skills & Qualifications Diploma or Certificate preferred. Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred. 3-5 years of substation drafting experience preferred.

Experience with drafting software:

AutoCAD SDS, AutoCAD Electrical, Microstation, or Inventor. Preferred non-technical skills include learning on the fly, problem-solving, perseverance, patience, time management, drive for results, self-development, listening, and informing.
