Are you ready to realize yourpotential? The Position This position assists with technical,quality and project issues within the Automation team. This personis expected to complete tasks under direction and supervision of amore senior Automation Engineer.

According to the organizational chart Number of subordinates withdirect/indirect referral: N/A Essential Functions Under directsupervision will assist with the design, implementation, start-upand troubleshooting of automation and plant floor control systems.

Under close supervision is responsible for the design and / orselection of instrumentation, control devices, control panels, andcontrol / electrical power systems throughout the facility Assistswith troubleshooting, testing, validation, deployment and on-goingmaintenance of Automation Systems Normally receives detailedinstructions on routine work and on new assignments Providessupport to manufacturing and facilities areas including thefollowing activitiesSupport for resolution of deviations,investigations, and other quality issues Assists with the design,procurement, construction, installation, engineering start-up,documentation and validation activities of new and modified controlsystems Participates in the development and implementation ofprocedural or automation improvements to support Plant ObjectivesWorks on project(s), tracks spending/budgets, creates scope ofwork, develops risk assessments, justification, cost estimates,implements purchase requisitions, funding requests, and managescontracts Provides support for troubleshooting for issues found inthe manufacturing environment Occasional supervision orcoordination of contractors Participate in on-call rotations,including weekends and non-business hours, to provide support forAutomation Systems This individual performs all job duties andresponsibilities in a compliant and ethical manner and inaccordance with all applicable healthcare laws, regulations andindustry codes Incorporates the Novo Nordisk Way and 10 Essentialsin all activities and interactions with others Other duties asassigned Physical Requirements 0-10% overnight travel required. Theability to climb. stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, andwalk. The ability to push, pull, lift, finger, feel, and grasp. Theability to speak, listen, and understand verbal and writtencommunication. Repetition including substantial movement of wrists,hands, and or fingers. Lifting up to 33lbs/15kg of forceoccasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or upto 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Visual acuity toperform close activities such as: reading, writing, and analyzing;and visual inspection. The working environment includes a varietyof physical conditions including: noise, inside and outsideconditions, working in narrow aisles, and temperature changes;atmospheric conditions including: odors, fumes, and dust.

Qualifications Education and CertificationsBachelor’s degree inengineering or related discipline required May consider High SchoolDiploma or Associates Degree Certified Control System Technician orCertified Automation Professional from the International Societyfor Automation (ISA) preferred Work ExperienceBachelors degree witha minimum of three (3) year experience in engineering required Mayconsider High School diploma with five (5) years of directengineering May consider Associates degree with three (3) year ofdirect engineering Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology or otherregulatory industries experience preferred Knowledge, Skills, andAbilitiesSome knowledge and experience with the following ispreferredInstrumentation & Control Device operation andtroubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers Supervisory Control& Data Acquisition Systems (SCADA) Variable Speed Drives Electricalsystems such as 120 VAC, 24 VDC, 480 VAC NFPA codes related toAutomation & Electrical work Some knowledge of the Microsoft OfficeSuite (Word, Excel, Visio, Project, & PowerPoint) Excellent oraland written communication skills Some knowledge of MicrosoftWindows Operating Systems and Networking systems (Ethernet) isdesired Knowledge of AutoCAD (ability to view, make minor changes)is desired Demonstrated experience working in a team-orientedenvironment is desired Employee must remain accessible duringon-call rotation and must be able to provide support/respond withina timely manner We commit to an inclusive recruitment process andequality of opportunity for all our job applicants.
