As a fiber splicer, you’ll work in telecommunications construction, splicing fiber networks for communication companies around the entirety of New England. ECE has been in business for over 30 years, comprised of a highly seasoned management team and construction group who are eager for you to join. What you’ll accomplish:
- Perform tasks associated with fiber splicing, both aerial and underground.
- Test and troubleshoot equipment
- Ensure quality for industry and customer standards.
- Document work performed through daily production reports, including marking up maps and recording correct material usage.
- Safely navigate working with a variety of heights
- Operate company vehicles safely and responsibly What you’ll need:
- a minimum of 7 years experience as a Fiber optic technician within the greater boston region of NH and MA.
- Proficient in CWDM, DWDM, Max, IOLM, and fast testing. experience with FTTH, PON, Distributed Tap architectures, as well as other standard fiber topologies.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Must be able to pass DOT physical exam
- Proficient in Single, and Ribbon splicing both Aerial and UG. Additional qualifications
- Capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber,
- Willingness to participate in active learning. Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
- Ability to work alone with little supervision.
- Must be able to work in inclement weather.
- Other tasks as assigned.
