The Product Engineering Technician will assist the product engineering and overall NPI team with testing and evaluation of connector products. You will provide technical support under the direction of the NPI team in the assessment of connectors for failure analysis, evaluation of product qualification activities, and general sustaining product engineering tasks.

Responsibilities:

Perform disassembly and evaluation of product for customer failure analysis, internal qualification testing

  • document findings via Excel and PowerPoint reports. Perform dimensional evaluation of components and connector assemblies. Prepare samples for qualification testing
  • installation to PCB, environmental cycling. Work with engineering to modify components for prototype evaluation. Manage inventory of engineering supplies
  • connector and component samples, PCBs, installation fixtures, etc.

Provide technical assistance to drafters, designers, engineers, and other support personnel.

Required Qualifications:

AS Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Applied Science or related Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Powerpoint) Experience with GD&T methodologies and metrology Ability to work with sensitive components and equipment Ability to communicate with technical & non-technical people Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently

Preferred Qualifications:

Basic understanding of electrical connectors and separable interfaces Experience with tight-tolerance, small-form factor components Experience with high-magnification digital imaging Experience with solid modeling tools (Pro/ECreo preferred) Amphenol Corporation is proud of our reputation as an excellent employer.
