High-end guitar repair shop seeking a moderate to experienced Guitar Repair Person to assist in the maintenance and repairs of fretted instruments. The ideal candidate is “self motivated” and able to manage their time and reach daily goals. Must at minimum have a good understanding of the guitar and the function of all it’s parts. Must already have the basic skills to use common hand tools carefully, and effectively. Must also have good mechanical skills, common mechanical sense, a desire to learn proper techniques, and the patience to do so. This is NOT a “start from scratch” apprenticeship. Must also be responsible to open and close the shop as needed. Possible opportunity to run a 2nd location in the future if qualifications are met. Come share in D’Angelo Guitars’ passion and be a part in growing the business and reputation of this 5-Star Guitar Repair Shop. Responsibilities and Duties Guitar Maintenance

  • Restringing of instruments, cleaning/polishing of instruments and frets, conditioning fingerboards. Guitar Hardware replacement
  • Swap out tuners, bridges, necks, etc. Guitar Setups
  • This will be a primary task for most days. Must have an understanding of all available adjustments, learn the order in which they must be completed, ability to accurately measure and set all tolerances (including nut action), compensate adjustments for buzzing issues, and quickly identify neck and/or fret issues that compromise playability within the first 10 minutes.   • These skills are a plus: Ability to solder properly, a basic knowledge of guitar circuit wiring, able to read a wiring diagram, replace or upgrade electrical components (pots, switches, caps, jacks, pickups) without burning or damaging any part of the instrument. Guitar Shop maintenance
  • Weekly cleaning and organizing of the shop. Daily targets
  • You will be required to reach a daily goal in revenue. Self motivation and time management is crucial. Cell phone use and excessive talking will not be tolerated. Qualifications and Skills Demeanor
  • First and foremost candidate must have the patience and control to handle every instrument with the utmost care , regardless of its value.

Ability to play and test the instrument. Ability to identify guitar issues quickly and efficiently. Understanding of guitar setup adjustments and their effects. Ability to self-start and manage time appropriately without direct supervision. Open-minded to receive guidance and direction. Take pride in maintaining a clean and organized work space. Good communication skills, both written and oral.

Pay:

$15.00
