POSITION SUMMARY

Under general direction/ supervision from the Industrial Repair Lead, the Industrial Repair Technician is responsible for the analysis and repair of transducers returned through the RMA process. The technician must have a working knowledge of electronics, the ability to draw conclusions / identify reason(s) for failure based on the performance / physical condition(s) of transducers at return and the ability to restore the returned items to meet original product specifications.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ability to identify the cause of failure for pressure transducers and related items after return testing/ disassembly process. Interfaces with the Service Repair Coordinator to provide customer/ sales with reason(s) for needed repair(s)/ calibration(s). Ability to offer technical assistance to Service Repair Coordinator and customers (if needed). Able to restore transducers to meet original product specifications (if possible). Verifies acceptability of product using proper calculations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education and/or

Experience:

High School Diploma / GED (required) Associates (A.A.) Degree or equivalent from a two-year college, university, or technical school (preferred) or 2 years related experience / training or equivalent combination of education and experience. SKILLS and

KNOWLEDGE

Ability to read and comprehend simple diagrams and related drawings. Ability to understand basic operation of signal conditioners. Ability to complete tasks as directed on shop travelers / work instructions. Ability to verify acceptable quality of all work as required. Ability to maintain records in an organized, orderly fashion.

None

EQUIPMENT TO BE USED

Electromechanical equipment for testing and measurement such as a multi-meter, Fluke meter, megaohm meter, temperature controller, data acquisition instrument and pressure controllers. Occasional use of personal computer/ tablet may be necessary.

Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less) Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)

TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS

Mathematical:

Must be able to do simple math calculations. Must be able to collect data, establish facts from data collected and draw conclusions. Must be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and be able to present overall findings while dealing with both abstract and concrete variables.

Reading:

Must be able to read, interpret, and implement work instructions written in English. Must be able to effectively compose routine reports and correspondence and be able to communicate results found effectively to groups of management or other employees.
