We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Maintenance Automation Specialist to support our Facilities Maintenance Manager in managing complex projects, ensuring optimal equipment health, and leading continuous improvement initiatives. This role demands a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise in robotics, PLCs, VFDs, and automation systems. The ideal candidate will be passionate about team development, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities Include:
- Partner with Facilities Maintenance Manager to schedule and manage complex maintenance and equipment projects.
- Lead and participate in 4M meetings, recommending and implementing improvements to enhance equipment performance.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with Process, Quality, and Production teams to improve safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Lead and support Lean, DMAIC, RCA, and 5S initiatives.
- Assign project tasks and provide clear direction, goals, and technical training to team members.
- Manage Capital Expenditure (Cap-X) projects from planning through execution.
- Program and troubleshoot a variety of OEM robotics, PLCs, and VFDs.
- Create and maintain SOPs, training documents, and setup procedures using Microsoft Office tools.
- Provide technical support during project execution and machine setups, including hands-on operation and troubleshooting.
- Foster a positive work environment that supports employee growth, development, and training.
- Utilize software tools such as Microsoft Office, Wonderware, OPC, and other data acquisition platforms.
Qualifications Include:
- Associate’s degree in Electronics Engineering Technology, OR High School Diploma/GED with 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Proven leadership abilities with experience leading technical teams and improvement projects.
- Strong working knowledge of robotics, PLCs, VFDs, and troubleshooting industrial automation systems.
- Demonstrated experience in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and DMAIC problem-solving.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Wonderware, OPC, and data monitoring tools.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and team-building skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to perform manual labor, including bending, stooping, reaching, carrying, and lifting up to 75 lbs.
- Requires physical dexterity and ability to work in confined spaces and at heights using ladders, stairs, and man lifts.
- Must wear appropriate PPE and adhere to all safety regulations.

- Experience mentoring or training team members for skill development and internal promotion.
