General Description:
The purpose of this role is to build, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify developmental and production electric and electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems. This includes motion control systems, instrumentation, test equipment, and machine tool numerical controls, applying principles and theories of electrical circuitry, electronics, engineering mathematics, and physics. A particular focus will be on the development and testing of electrical machine prototypes. Major Functions:
1.
Safety:
A. Optimize safety and minimize risk. B. Follow Lock Out Tag Out procedure. C. Wear required PPE. D. Adhere to required safety precautions regarding high electrical voltage. E.
Read and understand:
Electrical schematics and hydraulic schematics PLC/Ladder Logic Blueprints Operator Interfaces/HMI Machine manuals General operation of equipment All OSHA, state, and township codes Technical documents including 3D CAD (SolidWorks) 2.
Process and Technology:
A. Develop processes and implement equipment for the construction and testing of electrical motor prototypes or components based on technical requirements. B. Construct prototypes of electrical motors or components. C. Elaborate work instructions for the construction and testing of electrical motors or components. D. Provide customer support on technical questions. E. Conduct tests and assessments of electrical systems and repairs to ensure quality. F. Utilize and store all equipment properly. G. Collaborate and communicate with operators and outside vendors. H. Request orders or reorder consumables and spare parts. I. Service, repair, calibrate, regulate, fine-tune, or test machines, devices, and equipment operating primarily on electrical or electronic principles. J. Conduct required tasks in Automation and Process Improvement projects requiring electrical and electronics support. 3.
New Equipment/Modifications:
A. Fabricate, install, and move electrical and mechanical parts. B. Design electrical controls and perform panel wiring/design. C. Write and edit program code. D. Validate operations and train operators. E. Create 3D parts and drawings with SolidWorks. F. Confer with personnel to resolve design or operational problems.
