Blessings of Hope is searching for a Maintenance Associate to join our team. Blessings of Hope is a nonprofit organization committed to addressing today’s global food crisis through dedicated food distribution efforts. Successful candidate will be responsible for repairing and maintaining the facility and equipment including, conveyor systems, sanitation equipment, and material handling equipment. The candidate will also perform work on the physical structures at our various locations around Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure that all equipment is operating properly and safely. Perform periodic and general maintenance tasks throughout the facility as assigned and according to schedule. Includes hydraulic, plumbing, carpentry, and building maintenance, repair of equipment, fabrication of parts, adjustment, and repair of electronics. Perform inspection and repair of doors and dock plates, and all other building and support areas. Recognize problems and repairs before breakdown occurs. Independently troubleshoot and repair problems using advanced skills including electronic repair. Repair racking as required. Repair or replace batteries and chargers if needed. Replace damaged or burned-out lighting fixtures. Maintain complete repair records into digital computer systems for recordkeeping. Follow company procedures. Ensure a safe work environment. Responsible for performing all job duties with honesty and integrity. Manage required customer interactions in a professional manner Communicate with other departments to resolve issues in a courteous & professional manner

Requirements:

Must be committed to the values of initiative, responsibility, integrity, & innovation Able to speak and read English Must have current forklift training certification or be willing to receive certification Prior experience in facility maintenance or mechanical contracting is preferred Able & willing to work extended hours and weekends as necessary Team builder attitude and a willingness to learn from others. Self-motivated and able to work on projects with minimal guidance Possess experience or training in the maintenance or mechanical field. Possess a good background in electronics, refrigeration, plumbing, carpentry, and general building repairs. Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist, and hand movements required for maintenance and service procedures. Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead and in or under the equipment. Requires overall coordination, and good balance to work at ground level and in elevated places to perform job duties. Must possess the ability to operate work-related equipment, such as power equipment and hand tools, forklifts and pallet jacks, and diagnostic equipment. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Mental alertness is necessary to ensure the safe and accurate completion of work activities. Must possess the ability to read and comprehend all labeling on hazardous materials and equipment in the facility.
